Be Proactive: Get Vaccinated!

"

While flu season quickly approaches, it is important that you take the proper preventative care tips so that you and your family remain safe and healthy this winter.

  1. Be proactive. Always be aware of your surroundings. Be sure to cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough, wash your hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap and if you are starting to feel sick – stay home. Limiting your interaction with others will reduce the risk in spreading the illness. You can also purchase disinfectant wipes to wipe down countertops, door handles and other places that are commonly touched throughout the day.
  2. Get vaccinated. A seasonal flu vaccination is the most effective way to prevent the flu. The shot contains the dead virus inside you, and when injected into your system it creates immunity for your body against the virus. Please be aware that just because you were vaccinated last year doesn’t mean you are safe this year. The virus is consistently changing, making whatever shot you got last time ineffective.
