Health Tips for Women

September 23, 2019

Women are a group of people that seem always to be taking care of everyone around them but often neglect themselves. Your health has to be a priority if you want to be around years from now to continue taking care of those that you love! Check out this quick list of health tips that you can begin integrating into your daily routine today.
Get Active
Never underestimate the importance of daily exercise. You should aim to be active at least 30 minutes, five days per week. If activity is something you avoid, it’s just a matter of finding an exercise that you enjoy! Sign up for a group fitness class, walk the dog, or even go for a swim.
Protect Your Largest Organ
Your skin is your largest organ, but it’s often the most neglected organ too. Every day you should apply an SPF of at least 15. Many daily moisturizers and makeup products come with SPF built in so you don’t even have to add an extra step to your routine! SPF should be reapplied throughout the day. Don’t forget to protect your lips too. Purchase a lip balm contain SPF and you’ll be protected all day long! The sensitive skin around your eyes will need special protection from sunglasses if you plan to be outside for an extended period.
Focus on Mental Health
Physical health begins with good mental health. Take some time away from your busy schedule to focus on improving your mental health. Find a method of relaxation that works for you. Instead, it’s yoga, meditation, music, or just reading a book in the evenings, set time aside for you! Remember to make this time something good for your mind too, not just sitting in front of a TV or cell phone. There’s nothing wrong with setting time aside for yourself each day. Having improved mental health will make you a happier person each day, and there’s no doubt that everybody in your life would prefer to see you healthy and happy!
If you have any specific health concerns, it’s best to contact your physician. There are recommended testing schedules for women as they age, including mammograms. Talk with your healthcare provider to make sure you’re up to date on all of your tests and immunizations. It’s time to step up and make your health a priority for yourself and be the best you can be!
