Safety first

Vaccinations are one of the most responsible things you can do as a parent for your child. If you wouldn’t let your child be in a car with no seat belt or let them ride a bike without a helmet, then there is no reason why you shouldn’t vaccinate your child. A Vaccination is another form of protection for your children.

Are Vaccinations safe?

There is some stigma towards vaccinations and babies; however, vaccinations are not dangerous. Of course, there are some risks to getting a vaccination & it is on a rare occasion that your child suffers one of these side effects:

  • Swelling at the spot of injection
  •  fever
  • A headache
  • muscle and joint pain
  • fatigue
  • a whooping cough

Life-threatening occurrences from vaccinations are very rare.

How do Vaccinations work

Vaccinations work by inserting a weakened or dead strand of a specific virus into the body. The virus cannot harm or hurt you but the body does not know this. Our white blood cells detect the threat and create antibodies to get rid of the virus. This is basically prepping the body in case this virus was to ever re-enter the body.

When should I Vaccinate my child?

When a child is a newborn most doctors will recommend vaccinating him/her because newborns are extremely vulnerable. After that children should be vaccinated every couple of years through their grade school career & throughout their lives. Doctors will notify school when they should be vaccinated so just keep watchful eye.
