This summer is HOT, but don’t let that stop you from going outside and enjoying the weather! Dehydration occurs when the body loses more fluid than it is getting in. In the summer we are very vulnerable to getting dehydrated so read below for 10 tips to beat dehydration.

  1. Wake up in the morning & drink water!

When we start the morning with water we are already helping the body out! The body will store the water for when it needs it & will replace any water that it may have lost through the night.

 2. Eat foods with high concentrations of water

There are many ways to get water without drinking it. Foods such as cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, watermelon all have large quantities of water & will actually hydrate you as you eat them

3. Use hydration trackers

The recommended amount of water to drink is half of your body weight in once. However, the average person does not know this. A water tracker could be a very useful tool to use if you are a forgetful person.

4. Don’t drink too much alcohol

Always drink responsibly, if you’ve had too much to drink you may realize that you are extremely dehydrated. Alcohol dehydrates the body so if you are out for some fun, remember to drink water throughout ur night.

5. Don’t ignore signs of Dehydration

If you feel like you might have some symptoms of dehydration do not try to push through it. Always sets some time aside to rest, drink fluids and let your body heal. Sitting out for 10 mins of activity can go a long way.
