Why You Should Be Tested for STD’s

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections that you can get from having sex with someone who has such an infection. Sexually transmitted diseases are not discriminating – anyone can get them. Americans have the highest rate of STDs in the industrialized world. Regular testing for STDs is a good idea, even if you are in a monogamous relationship. One in three Americans contracts an STD by the age of 24. We encourage you to practice safe sex, but the reality is that no sex is 100% safe. Furthermore, the physical symptoms of a chronic STD can take years to emerge or may never become apparent. You may have an STD and not even know it.

At AFC Urgent Care we diagnose and treat the entire spectrum of STDs. Our own certified laboratory provides HIV and Hepatitis C results in minutes. Some testing is done by outside laboratories. If you require further treatment we can send prescriptions to your pharmacy. You would not need to return for another office visit.

Services are provided in a confidential setting by a professional staff trained in the area of sexually transmitted infections.
