What are the Most Common Allergens?

Allergy is a medical reaction of the human body towards a particular food, substance, or medication. The allergic reaction often results in reactions like itching, sneezing, fever, or difficulty in breathing.

Allergens are food or substance that cause an allergic reaction in people. Although most allergens are food products, other non-food-based allergens cause severe allergic conditions.

Common Allergens

Today, 10 to 30% of the entire population suffers from one or more types of allergy. Allergens are categorized into different subunits, these units are:

Food allergens:

As opposed to animal fur, animal dander causes allergic reactions. Animal dander is loose skin cells from animals containing their bodily fluids. Once an individual allergic to any of this body fluid gets in contact with the dander, they get allergic. Most times, the allergic reaction is excessive sneezing and rashes.

Animal allergen:

Certain people get an allergic reaction to cockroaches. This reaction is caused by inhaling in an environment with the presence of dead cockroach remains or their feces. Insect bites from need, ants, or mosquitoes result in a bad reaction, another form of animal allergy.

Common Symptoms

Allergic symptoms are indicators of an allergic attack, and they include:
