It’s that time of year again. BACK to SCHOOL. The AFC Urgent Care center in Waltham is your destinations for all your Back to School health needs.
Does your child need a Sports Physical? We’ve seen this before. He shows up for the first day of practice, only to be told he cannot practice because the school requires a yearly Medical Clearance form. Your son or daughter is distraught that their doctor can’t see them for another week (coach won’t like that) and besides, the thought of spending half a day traveling and waiting in the doctor’s office has little appeal. We at AFC Urgent Care have the solution. Our experienced personnel will take a comprehensive history and conduct a detailed physical examination. Walk in or make an online appointment. We’ll take care of you on your own schedule and have you on your way before you can even have your second cup of our delicious coffee.
Schools require Physical Examinations even when the student does not participate in team sports. Vaccinations, which we also administer, must be up to date. These requirements also apply to your college bound child. Check the school’s requirements and come see us. We have all necessary forms but will gladly complete your own school’s forms as required. And as long as you are bringing your child, you may wish to check if you are up to date on your own Tetanus and other immunizations.
In the interest of promoting your mental, as well as physical health, AFC Urgent Care offers the following hints:
- At the beginning of the school year, make 100 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and put them in the freezer. Making daily lunch for your child will be a breeze. Did you know that a full freezer uses less electricity than a half empty one?
- Those of you sending your last child off to college should plan a well-deserved trip abroad for yourselves. Our travel experts will provide the necessary immunizations and travel advice. Hey, as long as you are refinancing the house to pay for college, what’s another couple of thousand bucks?
