3 Reasons to Go to Urgent Care

 emergency walk in clinic

The rise of urgent care centers in the United States has given way to much easier access to quality care. Since these facilities offer great care and are often open longer and on more days than primary doctors, they are an ideal way to relieve the emergency room congestion that we have seen in recent years. Urgent care doctors can provide most of the services that any primary doctor can offer as well. Check out why you should be considering their care.

Get Tested
STD testing centers are few and far between, and it can be difficult to find the right place to go to in a reasonable amount of time. Emergency walk in clinics help you to get care and ease your worries. It takes much of the stress you may feel about the testing away. Less that 40% of sexually active young females are screened for chlamydia on average. Urgent cares can help change this statistic.

After Hours Care
After hours urgent care is pretty common among these types of facilities. It makes them a better choice than you regular doctor at times simply because only 29% of primary care physicians stay open after hours -- and there is frequently a wait time involved. Instead, urgent care facilities have an average wait time of 15 minutes or less to see a doctor about 60% of the time, and 65% of facilities have a doctor on-site all the time. This is in addition to their great after hours care.

Peak Seasons
Emergency walk in clinics are ideal during certain times of the year known for health problems. For example, cold and flu season is coming up and it may become difficult to get an appointment to see your primary doctor. Urgent care takes that worry away and allows you to get the care you need when you need it.
