Digital X-Ray Services
Walk In Today for an Imaging Test
We are always looking to take urgent care services to the next level at American Family Care®. As part of that effort, many of our clinics have been outfitted with digital x-ray services for a more comprehensive healthcare experience. We transitioned to a state-of-the-art, digital x-ray system to improve the quality of images, process results faster, and provide more accurate diagnostics.
Our available x-ray services vary by location. Most locations are capable of performing x-rays for:
- Upper extremities: fingers, hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, humerus, radius
- Lower extremities: toes, foot, ankle, leg, knee, tibia, femur
- Chest/Lungs
- Spine: cervical, thoracic, lumbar
- Skull: head or nose
- Abdominal
- Pelvis/Hips
We have the technology needed for on-site diagnostic tests, resulting in a more direct treatment plan.
What You Should Know About X-Rays
X-rays are the most basic form of imaging tests, which are diagnostic procedures used to view the body’s internal structures. You do not need to do anything to prepare for an x-ray, and the test should not cause any significant discomfort. These tests can help physicians diagnose fractures, tumors, arthritis, lung damage, and more.
X-rays utilize minimal amounts of radiation in order to create images. Radiation exposure from an x-ray should not cause any damage to an adult or child, but could be dangerous for a developing baby. Additionally, if you have received other radiation-based imaging tests in the last year, you should tell the doctor. Exposure to imaging radiation several times in a short time could be damaging. Otherwise, these are among the safest medical procedures!

A: At AFC, we always strive to get you in and out as quickly as possible, and the X-ray itself should only take around 15 minutes.
How do I get the COVID-19 Vaccine?
Getting a COVID-19 vaccine is the best, safest way to not get severely ill. Like all vaccines, the COVID-19 vaccine teaches your body how to develop its own immunity to the virus that causes this illness. A COVID-19 vaccine usually requires two doses. The second shot happens 14 to 28 days after the first. It takes about three weeks after your last shot to develop immunity. Getting a COVID-19 vaccination will depend on availability and guidelines in your state. Contact us about getting a COVID-19 vaccination.
