As you begin your application process to live in the United States on a full-time basis, you will need to submit to an immigration physical performed by a USCIS physician. We understand that many patients may have questions regarding the physical. AFC Urgent Care Southcenter is happy to go over some of the most frequently asked questions regarding immigration physicals, the process and what you will need to bring with you to your visit.

Do I need to make an appointment for an immigration physical?

What happens during the immigration physical?

The immigration physical is a thorough examination that goes thoroughly through your current medical status and past medical history, including:

  • A review of your medical history, past mental health treatment and vaccination records
  • A review of past chest x-rays and review of treatment for tuberculosis if applicable
  • Drug testing, TB testing and gonorrhea testing

Do I need to undergo an immigration physical?

You will need to bring proof that you have been immunized against the following diseases. If you have not had the vaccinations, you will need to receive them as part of your physical:

  • Influenza (if applying between October and April, an updated shot will be administered)
  • Tetanus
  • Pertussis
