AFC Urgent Care Clearwater is now offering the COVID-19 antibody test. This test can be administered with the COVID-19 diagnostic test, with results in two to three days. The test is administered at our walk-in urgent care center.
What is an antibody test?
An antibody test is a blood test that can check to see if you have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus. Antibodies are typically developed around two weeks after initial exposure to the virus, or one week after developing symptoms including fever or cough.
What do antibodies tell us?
While the presence of antibodies typically indicate immunity to a viral infection, it needs to be determined if this is true for COVID-19. Antibody testing can help determine the prevalence of this coronavirus infection in the Clearwater community and help decide when we can return to a more normal/less restricted lifestyle.
