Dr Mayer joined American Family Care in 2016 and is currently the medical director and co-owner of AFC Urgent care - Tampa located in Citrus Park. Dr Mayer grew up in the Tampa area graduating from Hillsborough High School. After attending medical school at Oklahoma State University Dr Mayer completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of South Carolina. He returned to the Tampa Bay area in 1992 and began his career working alongside his father in Family Medicine in Land O' Lakes, Florida while working part time in Emergency Medicine.

Dr Mayer brings 30 years of experience in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Occupational Medicine to AFC. Dr Mayer is happily married to his wife Luisa and is blessed with 6 children, 4 boys and 2 girls. His hobbies include Basketball, Golf and Ping Pong as well as Volunteering at Grace Family Church where he and his wife attend.
