If you are looking to make the United States your permanent place of residence, you will have to undergo a physical immigration examination. This is to ensure you don’t have any medical conditions that will require follow-up treatment and to clarify that all your immunizations are up to date. The examination must be carried out by a civil surgeon who works for immigration. At AFC Urgent Care Tampa, we provide low-cost immigration physicals.
Our urgent care clinic in Tampa, Florida is allowed by federal law to conduct a physical immigration examination to help grant you access to live and work in the United States.
An immigration physical is a required step if you are applying for a green card or citizenship. Unlike other physicals, this one must be administered by a USCIS Designated Civil Surgeon. Our board-certified providers at AFC Urgent Care Tampa are available to give you this physical today. They have years of experience in administering this specialized physical, and our facility is equipped to manage all of the testing requirements needed. We also keep most of the required vaccines on site to get your immunizations up to date.
During your physical we will:
Most patients will need additional vaccinations, TB blood testing, other blood tests, and usually a chest x-ray before the physical is complete. These services are all available at our urgent care center at affordable rates.
When visiting our urgent care center for this physical, please bring with you:
Most health insurances do not cover this service. You may want to check with your carrier first before visiting.
After your physical examination is completed, we must wait several days for various tests and screenings to be completed. This includes your QuantiFERON-TB Gold (QFT) for tuberculosis and, if needed, your RPR (Syphilis Test). Please allow for at least seven days so your test results can be verified. We will call you when your completed USCIS Certified Immigration Physical packet is ready to be picked up.
We will give you a sealed envelope with your immigration results and a copy for your records. DO NOT OPEN THE SEALED ENVELOPE. Give that to your immigration lawyer or the Department of Homeland Security/U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services.
