Am I at an Increased Risk of Getting a Contagious Illness Right Now?

According to the CDC, they are seeing “increased Interseasonal Respiratory Syncytial Virus [RSV] activity in parts of the Southern United States.” What is RSV, you ask?

Well, RSV, as it’s defined by the CDC, is a “common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. Most people recover in a week or two, but RSV can be serious, especially for infants and older adults.” Because more people are unmasked and gathering together more consistently, the RSV risk has been steadily increasing. We’ve listed some common RSV symptoms below.

Common RSV Symptoms

  • Congested or runny nose
  • Dry cough
  • Low-grade fever
  • Sore throat
  • Sneezing
  • Headache

Should I Get a Rapid Test?
