4 Habits to Use to Avoid Cold and Flu

September 25, 2017

"

While you may be exposing yourself to a handful of people who are coughing or sneezing, there are a few things you can do to avoid getting sick this flu season.

Get your flu shot: Getting your seasonal flu shot is the best preventative measure to avoid getting influenza.  It helps fight against the infection, and can even lessen the symptoms you may experience if you happen to get sick with the common cold.

Frequently wash your hands: Viruses such as the common cold and flu are passed around  through simple contacts.  The golden rule to avoid getting sick is to always wash your hands before eating, after using the bathroom, or being on public transportation  such as trains or buses.

Keep up your exercise regime: Now that you’re back to regular school and work schedules, it’s a little difficult to motivate yourself and get your body moving, especially when  you’re not feeling your best. Regular exercise can boost your body’s ability to fight off infection. Can you add a statistic here to support the sentence?

Stay home: Utilize your sick days!  When you feel a cold coming on, be sure to take advantage of your sick time and use it to rest and recover.  Your coworkers will thank you for not spreading germs within your workplace.
