What is a virtual doctor visit? How much does a virtual doctor visit cost?
When you have a virtual doctor visit, it’s like having a regular doctor’s visit, but from home and over the internet! To have one of these visits, you’ll connect with a doctor via your computer or smartphone. You’ll be able to ask the doctor questions and receive remote diagnosis and treatment. This is called telecare or Telecare/Video Visit.
With Telecare/Video Visit, patients are able to stay home but still receive healthcare for minor illnesses, minor injuries, and common symptoms like those of the common cold. It’s possible to provide basic visual physical exams too. And with a clinic like ours, people of any age, including children and seniors, can be treated.
There’s a lot to like about Telecare/Video Visit, and another aspect of it that you’ll like is how affordable it is compared to regular doctor’s visits. At our clinic, our pricing varies, but is quite affordable for most patients. Also, we accept most major health insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid, and for patients without insurance, we offer discounted cash-pay options. Is there a difference between telehealth and telecare? What can be treated through telecare?
Telehealth and telecare are somewhat different. Typically, telehealth refers to a wider range of remote healthcare services than telecare does. Telecare/Video Visit refers to only remote clinical services, but both terms can be used to describe remote healthcare. If you use either term with us here at AFC Urgent Care, we’ll know exactly what you mean.
With telehealth/telecare, you can receive care for minor heath symptoms and minor conditions, like cold symptoms. If you currently have cold-like symptoms, a telecare doctor will be able to determine whether they are simple cold symptoms or symptoms of another issue. Depending on the doctor’s determination, he or she will either recommend in-person or curbside testing if required, or offer another service like a prescription for a medication. Telecare/Video Visit can provide diagnoses, treatments, checkups, and family health advice digitally for the most comprehensive kind of home healthcare possible.
