AFC Urgent Care South Philly has COVID-19 rapid antigen, rapid molecular, and PCR testing at our center. First, please call our urgent care center and speak with our staff about the symptoms you are having. If you are using your insurance to receive a COVID-19 test, you will need to be first seen by a doctor. We will schedule your office visit to be seen by a doctor and get tested in the same visit. Please bring ID and your insurance card with you to your office visit.

Yes. We now offer the rapid antigen & rapid molecular tests which are able to detect active coronavirus infection. The antigen test is covered by insurance with a doctor’s visit. The rapid antigen test is available without a doctor’s visit for $80. The rapid molecular test, which is required by many travel destinations and employers, is available without a doctor’s visit for a self-pay rate of $150. At the present time, insurance does not cover the rapid molecular test.
COVID PCR Test results are most reliable COVID Tests and are covered by insurance with a doctor’s visit. Normally, COVID-19 PCR test results return in 2 to 3 days. During periods of high demand for COVID-19 testing, results may take longer. We use LabCorp to process our COVID-19 PCR tests, and the time it takes to get results changes daily. Our providers do their best to give you an estimate of when test results are expected, but a time for returned results cannot be guaranteed.
The out-of-pocket cost of a Rapid COVID-19 antigen test is $80. The out-of-pocket cost a COVID-19 Rapid Molecular and PCR tests is $150. The Rapid antigen and PCR tests are covered by insurance with a doctor’s visit. Please check with your insurance for COVID-19 testing coverage as they are often changing.

Person to person transmission has been confirmed. It is believed that the virus travels on droplets that exit someone’s mouth when they cough. For this reason, face masks are highly recommended to be worn while outside. If you are infected but not showing symptoms, a mask will help contain droplets.
