JOB SUMMARY

AFC Urgent Care is looking for doctors who passionately care for patients and enjoy the practice of medicine. We are open 8am-8pm Monday through Friday and 8am-5pm on weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • AFC Urgent Care physicians evaluate and treat patients in an efficient and effective manner when immediate care is needed.
  • AFC physicians must be comfortable assessing pediatrics as young as 6 months old.
  • Must be comfortable in performing procedures in which a local anesthetic may be used.
  • AFC physicians conduct annual, sports, school, and pre-employment physicals, vaccinations, and interpret results from diagnostic services such as labs and x-rays.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

AFC Physicians must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine, have an active Tennessee State License, DEA number, be (or willing to become) DOT Certified, current ACLS, and registered with CAQH.

Job Description

Job Description

AFC Urgent Care and Family Care is looking for highly trained and experienced caregivers to passionately care for patients and work well on a physician-led team. Whether you are full-time or part-time, you will have access to state-of-the-art equipment for patient care, as well as a diverse patient base and an interesting diversity of patient issues.

A successful candidate will be expected to perform the following duties:

Triage:

  • Escort patients to Triage Room.
  • Take Vital Signs.
  • Document patient data including medical history.
  • Administer injections as directed.

Lab:

Become certified in administering all lab test and documenting lab standards, including:

  • Draw blood samples.
  • Collect urine samples.
  • Execute DOT and non-DOT Drug Screens.
  • Execute spirometer tests.
  • Execute BAT test.
  • Execute any additional lab test that may be required (CBC, strep test, flu test, etc.).
  • Maintain lab controls.

Assist Physician:

  • Direct patient to available exam room and ensure room is set up based on initial patient complaint.
  • Assist provider with patient care when requested.
  • Set IVs when necessary.
  • Discharge patients from room with instructions.
  • Clean room after each patient.
  • Ensure patient flow is speedy and organized.

General:

  • Replenish inventory supplies as needed.
  • Assist in maintenance of equipment.
  • Ensure cleanliness of patient waiting area, bathrooms, front office area, and exam rooms.
  • Perform general office clean up at end of the day or shift.

Experience Requirements

Required:

Minimum 1-year experience in medical office setting.

Professional appearance at all times.

Warm and friendly attitude with excellent patient interaction skills.

Excellent verbal and communication skills

Adaptable in differing situations.

Able to multi-task and work independently.

Job Description

The purpose of this position is to maintain daily operations of the center, efficiently service patients, and direct staff. The Center Administrator reports directly to both the center owner and the lead physician.

A successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure all patients are greeted and directed through the registration process.
  • Ensure that patients present the appropriate health insurance or assurances of ability to pay.
  • Ensure a bill is generated for patients without insurance.
  • Ensure collection of co-payments and/or full amount before patient leaves the office.
  • Ensure generation of a bill for billing service for those patients with insurance.
  • Intervene with billing company to reconcile patient questions concerning billing.
  • Ensure all charts are transferred to a digital copy and original paper copy is shredded.
  • Work in conjunction with RN to call back patients to ensure patient experience.
  • Recruit, hire, and train a highly effective team. Build and manage a professional team capable of delivering high quality medical care. Identify each staff member has appropriate skills and is competent in their area of responsibility.
  • Training includes, but is not limited to, requesting staff training for Drug Urine Collectors and BAT Technicians to ensure enough trained/certified staff are available at the center to perform any needed collections during all operational hours.
    • Manage all human resource issues. These issues include hiring, orientation, performance reviews, performance feedback and terminations.
    • Complete Employee File Checklist at time of new hire, including but not limited to, Job Description, New Hire Packet, Payroll Information, HIPAA instruction, and Company Policy & Procedure. This also includes issuing the Employee Handbook and Uniforms.
      • Manage the facility assuring appearance, cleanliness, and safety, with particular emphasis on keeping the lobby and patient care areas clean.
      • Ensure compliance with policies and protocols. Responsible for compliance in all areas including HR, OSHA, HIPAA, etc.
      • Ensure center has all operational supplies to adequately service the patients.
      • Ensure medical designate orders all medical supplies needed.
      • Ensure nightly accounting of all cash receipts.
      • Ensure financial efficiency for the center. This responsibility includes monitoring expenses including labor, supplies, and services used. Provide weekly accounting of all accounts received, pending, and outstanding.
      • Understanding and diagnosis of center performance metrics. Review reporting for opportunities for improvement.
    • OSHA Training for new hires within one month of hire date and annual training thereafter.
    • Paychex HR Services will be utilized for Access to Exposure & Medical Records, BBP, Hazard Communication, and PPE.
    • Training is to be scheduled by the CA and reported to DX Ops upon completion.

Experience Requirements

A qualified candidate will possess:

  • Four-year college degree preferred.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and consultative communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Strong team focus, but ability to work autonomously and take initiative. Must be motivational in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate exceptional patient interaction skills.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a supervisor role at a medical office.
  • Understanding of medical billing.
  • Understanding of HIPAA.
  • Computer/software skills.

Job Description

AFC Urgent Care and Family Care offers a fast-paced, patient-focused environment with team members who truly care about providing a superior patient experience.

A successful candidate’s primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing patient registration (enter into Practice Velocity, generate Pivots, verify insurance, collect copays, check outstanding balances, etc.).
  • Completion of other front office administrative tasks.
  • Greeting patients in a professional, warm, friendly, and calm manner.
  • Ensuring patient flow is speedy and organized.
  • Processing claims and posting payments for SP, WC, EPS, MVAs.
  • Maintaining relationships with corporate accounts and ensuring paperwork flow is timely.
  • Auditing charts to ensure proper coding by physicians.
  • Becoming certified and performing drug screening tests.
  • Ensuring patient files and charges are complete and accurate.
  • Performing patient discharge.
  • Answering incoming calls in a professional manner.
  • Coordinating faxes and referrals with other physicians and employers.
  • Ensuring cleanliness of patient waiting area and front office area.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a medical office setting.
