Man Holding His Heart Because He’s Having Health Issues That Can Be Prevented By Going To AFC Urgent Care Danbury

Too many men wait until they have a serious health problem before they seek medical help. This can be a deadly mistake, no pun intended. There are many mens health issues like cardiovascular disease, diabetes and others that can be addressed with early diagnosis and treatment. In light of June’s Men’s Health Awareness month, AFC Urgent Care Danbury wants to help men tackle these issues.

The first step is to be more aware of these issues. Next, is admitting that there is a chance of developing one of these health issues and that you need to get a checkup more often. Let’s take a look at these specific health issues and ways you can help to prevent them.

Health Problems Men Can Prevent

Did you know that these health problems can be prevented by going to the doctor more often? Let’s take a look at some of them below:

  • Heart disease
  • Prostate cancer
  • Testicular cancer
  • Diabetes.
  • High blood pressure
  • High Cholesterol
  • Low Testosterone Levels

Heart disease (cardiovascular disease) is the leading cause of death in the U.S. Diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol usually lead to heart disease and can easily be prevented by going to the doctor’s office more often, exercising more, eating healthy and avoiding a sedentary lifestyle. You don’t want to let one of these health conditions limit your day to day routine. Oftentimes these health conditions, if left undetected or untreated, can lead to heart failure, stroke, heart attack, kidney disease, amputations and other complications..

The various cancer types listed above are also something that can be prevented by going for a checkup with a urologist and by performing more self checks for testicular cancer at-home. Did you know testicular cancer is very common in men from ages 15-34? Don’t wait for the problem to come to you. Do yourself a favor and get checked more often.

Injuries At The Workplace Is Another Men's Health Issue

Did you know men are more likely than women to get injured or sick at the workplace? Labor statistics continue to show this gender gap and how the type of jobs can increase a man’s health risks.

June is also health and safety month for the workplace. We highly encourage more men to get a  checkup, consider more safety precautions at work, wear protective gear and avoid being overzealous at the jobsite because danger is secretly attracted to you.

Don't Wait Until It's Too Late. Get Checked Out Today.
