STDs are very common. More than half of all Americans get a sexually transmitted disease or infection at some time in their lives. They often do not cause any symptoms and many people have one and never know it. That’s why it’s a good idea to think about getting tested.
Some people assume they will be tested for when they have their annual physical exam. This is not true, you will not automatically be tested for STDs. If you are seeing us for another medical reason, and are not sure if you need an STD test, just ask.
