Nowadays, we have laptops to send our emails quicker, mobile phones to make our calls faster… but what about faster medical care? The average wait time in the ER is 4 hours. That’s a long time, especially when your children have to wait too!
AFC Urgent Care is your local South Philly doctor’s office specifically designed to provide faster and less costly care for many situations where you would normally go to the ER. It’s conveniently located on the corner of 15th and West Passyunk, right across from the Melrose Diner. And it’s open 7 days a week. They can diagnose and treat you and your family for flu, colds, ear infections, sore throats, eye injuries, cuts, bruises, joint pain, infections, rashes… and the list goes on.
So the question is, why spend hours waiting for medical care when you can get equal or better care much quicker and for much less cost? The national average cost for a visit to the ER is now over $1,200. The average cost for that same visit to AFC Urgent Care is $125 if you are paying out of pocket. AFC also accepts most insurances.

We have been to this urgent care location three years in a row for my toddler daughter’s annual pinkeye. The front office staff has always been very friendly and polite.
This year, shortly after our family of four (we also have a newborn) sat in the waiting room, one of the doctors came out with a lollipop for our daughter to take her mind off her itchy eye. He also made sure we were aware of the changing table located in the bathroom and let us know that he could get her some juice or water.
Everyone at the facility was gentle and sweet to our daughter which we really appreciated since the doctor’s office can be scary place for a little kid.
The doctor electronically sent our prescription to our local CVS. Once we left the facility we were able to drive directly to our pharmacy to pick up the medication and begin treatment.

Today was my first Urgent Care experience. I never need to seek medical attention, but I hurt my back during training and was debilitated all weekend. The staff was cordial. I was seen immediately. I like that Dr Z. listened to me and satisfied my needs. I would use this service again in the future.

I was at the end of my rope with a head cold that had moved to my lungs. The doctor made a thorough exam and prescribed antibiotic, a decongestant, and an inhaler which within two days made me feel much better. The doctor took time to address two other questions I had and offered a remedy. So glad the clinic was nearby.
So the next time you think you need to go to the ER or don’t want to wait days to get an appointment with your regular doctor, just stop over at AFC Urgent Care and get the care you need quickly and economically.
