According to the latest guidelines from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regular STD Testing can help prevent the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Because of the profoundly personal nature of STDs, it is generally believed that they are underreported, making it a “hidden epidemic" in the United States. The CDC suggests that anyone between the ages of 13 to 64 should be tested at least once for HIV.

You should be tested for these STDs early in a pregnancy, and if you are at high risk of becoming infected, testing should continue throughout the pregnancy to protect the health of the mother and infant. If you have regular unprotected sex or share drug injection equipment, HIV should be tested for annually. Testing for HIV every three to six months may be suggested if you are at a higher risk for it. Sexually active women should be screened annually for chlamydia if they have multiple partners or whose partner has other sexual partners.

After you are tested, our doctors will review the results with you and give you a full copy of the test results. We can, at your request, forward these results to your primary care doctor or another specialist. Our urgent care center accepts most major insurances, but we do accept a discounted cash payment if you want an additional layer of confidentiality.
