Where are your Worcester Mass urgent care centers located?

AFC Urgent Care of Worcester is located at 117A Stafford Street, just next to CVS, and we have a new location soon to come, at 926 West Boylston Street in the Stop and Shop Plaza. Both serve the Greater Worcester area, including Auburn, Leicester, Paxton, Holden, Auburn, North Grafton, Shrewsbury and West Boylston.

How much will the visit cost if I have no insurance?

There is a range of costs for the office visit depending on the complexity of the medical problem.

Do you take my insurance?

We participate with most insurance carriers

Do you accept Mass Health ?

Yes we do!

Do I have to make an appointment?

No, you can walk-in during our normal business hours and be seen by a physician without a long wait. You can, however, check in ahead of time to save time, right here

How long will I have to wait to be seen?

We try our best to make sure that every patient is seen in under an hour.

How do I know whether I should be going to an urgent care center or the emergency room?

Come to urgent care for most non- life threatening illnesses or immediate care health concerns. If your ailment is life threatening, you should go to the emergency room or call 911 immediately. For a list of what we service at our AFC Urgent Care Centers, click here
We specialize in fast and effective physician care, for most non-life threatening conditions due to illness or injury, as well as preventive care, travel medicine, camp and sports physicals and employers services. We bridge the gap between a primary care physician and the ER, providing extended hours, seven days a week, with CLIA certified labs, digital x-ray, splints & braces, vaccines and prescriptions. We do not have an on-site pharmacy.

Do you treat allergies?

We provide treatments that can alleviate common allergy symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, itchy eyes, runny noses, etc. Also, we provide nebulizer treatments for when allergies trigger asthma.

Do you provide seasonal flu vaccinations?

Yes, we do.

When is the best time to get the flu shot? 

The ideal time to get your flu shot is October and November. Sooner than that and you may risk getting the flu at the end of flu season, or have to get a second flu vaccine. This is especially important for the elderly.

Can you perform sports and camp physicals for my children?

Yes, we can. School physicals as well.  No appointment is needed. Just come in on a walk-in basis, and we’ll perform the sports or camp physical. If there’s a required form, please bring that with you.

Do you perform confidential STD testing?  

Yes, we do. We both test and treat STD’s, including chlamydia and HPV. Rest assured that we treat your medical information with the  highest degree of confidentiality and discretion.

Do you do gynecology exams?

We perform gynecological exams when appropriate. We do not do Pap Smears.

 Do you perform physicals?

We can do sports, camp, school physicals and annual physicals. We also perform   pre-employment and DOT physicals.

How much does a  a typical visit cost?

For insured patients,we collect your deductible and/or your co-pay at the time of service, and then bill your insurer for you. After your insurer sends an EOB (explanation of benefits) to us, will bill you for any balance still due.
Our staff will discuss any other recommended other treatment or services,(such as an x-ray or a lab test)with you.

If I have insurance, will I get a bill after my visit?

Our fees are fixed, but the amount that your insurance company covers depends on your specific plan, coverage and deductible. After your insurer produces an EOB (explanation of benefits), if there is a balance due, we will bill you for the remaining balance.

Can I get a discount?

Our rates are very affordable for self-pay patients. For insured patients, coverage depends on your plan and deductible.

Can I come to your urgent care center if I live outside of Worcester?

Yes, of course. we see people from all throughout the Greater Worcester area including Auburn, Leicester, Paxton, Holden, Auburn, North Grafton, Shrewsbury and West Boylston.

Do you have good parking?

Yes! We have a large parking lot with adequate parking.
