Strep Throat

February 18, 2014

Strep throat is a common and contagious infection caused by Group A streptococcus bacteria. Although it can affect anyone; it is especially common among children.
Strep throat is usually treated with an antibiotic. If one is prescribed to you, make sure to always finish the medication. To alleviate symptoms in the meantime, a pain reliever or NSAID can reduce swelling and relieve the pain.
If you think you or your child may have strep throat, consult a doctor. The doctors at AFC Urgent Care Urgent Care in South Plainfield can diagnose and treat strep throat in our state-of-the-art center.
