Orthopedic Services
More than 90 percent of back and neck pain can significantly improve without surgery. We treat acute to mild conditions like sciatica, muscle strain, spinal arthritis and other common injuries.
Most knee injuries are a result of tears, sprains, strains, dislocations and ligament tears. We evaluate and provide partial bracing for common injuries like sprains, contusions and general injuries from sports and accidental falls.
Whether your pain is from an accident or day-to-day movements, hand and wrist pain can be inconvenient. For most common injuries like trigger finger, fractures, carpal tunnel and arthritis, we can help restore or manage your pain with nonsurgical alternatives.
Elbow injuries often occur from both accidents and normal wear and tear. We treat a range of injuries and conditions like fractures and breaks, nurse maid elbow, joint pain, dislocation and more.
More than 25 percent of sport and exercise injuries are foot and ankle injuries. Fortunately, we treat several of these common foot and ankle injuries like rolled ankles, turf toe, plantar fasciitis, shin splints and more.
If you can’t make it to AFC immediately after an incident, use the R.I.C.E. method.
Rest – Find a comfortable location and rest to prevent further strain on your injury.
Ice – Apply an ice pack for 15–20 minutes, reapplying every 3 hours. If you don’t have an ice pack, a bag of frozen vegetables works too.
Compress – Wrap the injured area with an elastic bandage, ensuring it’s snug but not too tight. Watch for signs of restricted blood flow like numbness or discoloration.
Elevate – Keep the injured area above heart level using pillows for proper support while resting in bed or on a sofa.
