What We Treat: Cuts

December 14, 2015

To many, the sight of blood triggers feelings of nausea, lightheadedness and just overall discomfort. This is why it may be too taxing for them to treat a cut wound on their own. If this describes yourself – rest assured; you’ll never have to worry about this as long as you have us at AFC Urgent Care Methuen to patch you up back to normal.
Our physicians here will be happy to accommodate any patient, any day of the week during business hours with cuts. Our team can additionally administer any necessary stitching as long as isn’t necessarily life-threatening. If a cut wound or laceration, is life-threatening, the emergency room is the best place to treat such injuries. But for everyday cuts, our team can provide all the necessary care. One major concern with any open wound, including cuts, is the potential for infection. With an on-site lab at our fingertips, we can perform the blood tests required to accurately determine whether or not a patient has suffered an infection from a cut. If so, our patients can prescribe the requisite medication needed to rid patients of their viral or bacterial infection.
Upon visiting our center, patients will generally wait far less time before seeing a physician than any emergency room. From there, our physician or physician’s assistant will clean the wound and apply any proper bandaging or stitching to stop the bleeding and prevent the wound from getting infected. Our physicians can later remove the stitching once the wound has sufficiently healed itself.
To take advantage of our services, visit us anytime during business hours and one of our physicians will be happy to treat your cut! For more information call us at 978-975-0700. We look forward to being the solution to all your medical problems!
