Vaccines are important for a variety of reasons. They help keep preventable diseases out of our communities, and keep more vulnerable residents safe.
Patients may also get vaccinated before traveling abroad. Some countries have outbreaks of illnesses that are not prevalent in the U.S., such as Hepatitis A & B, thanks to vaccines.
It’s best to get vaccinated to protect yourself, and to avoid contaminating others when you return. Vaccines are also recommended during immigration physicals.
