Dehydration Prevention

June 2, 2014

Dehydration occurs when we lose too much fluid in our bodies causing our bodies to become unbalanced and dehydrated. Water is an extremely important component in stabilizing our bodies so you should always drink a lot of fluids, especially in the summer, because the more you sweat out, urinate and exhale, the more water you lose in your system.

Symptoms of dehydration include;

  • Weakness
  • Dizziness
  • Increased thirst
  • Fainting
  • Lack of urination/dark colored urine
  • Weariness

If you happen to be suffering from any of these signs, you should drink water immediately and monitor your symptoms to ensure they do not lead to more severe issues.

More severe symptoms of dehydration are;

  • High fever
  • Headache
  • Vomiting
  • Weight loss
  • Chest/abdominal pains
  • Seizures

If you are suffering from any of these issues, please go to the emergency room immediately. Severe dehydration can lead to death therefore making it extra important to be aware of the symptoms!
