Blood Pressure Testing in Edison & South Plainfield, NJ

Blood pressure screenings are quick simple tests that measure the force of blood pushing against artery walls when your heart is beating.

Blood pressure is measured in two readings: systolic pressure, which measures the pressure of the blood when the heart contracts, and diastolic pressure, which measures the pressure between heartbeats.

As a standard part of any medical visit, the physicians at AFC Urgent Care South Plainfield will check your blood pressure anytime you visit our urgent care center. Having your blood pressure reviewed will ensure that you are not at risk for any heart-health complications during your visit.

Blood pressure readings can detect health issues such as the below and more:

  • Hypertension
  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol

Open seven days a week, our walk-in clinic is fully equipped with a state-of-the-art lab and digital x-ray system, allowing us to treat our patients symptomatic of high blood pressure. After your visit, we will then refer you to your primary care physician or specialist, as needed.

If you would like more information about our blood pressure screenings, or other services we provide at our Urgent Care Center, please call to speak with one of our medical professionals at (908) 222-3500.

AFC Urgent Care FAQs

  • Why choose AFC for Urgent Care?

With state-of-the-art centers and a professional medical team, AFC provides on-site X-rays, labs, procedures, and more!

  • What's the difference between AFC Urgent Care and emergency room services?

Urgent care is for medical conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life. Here is a simple rule of thumb: if your medical issues(s) are life threatening, call 911, or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an urgent care center such as AFC is an excellent alternative.
