What We Need:

We are currently seeking energetic, driven and team oriented Medical Assistants who have good communication skills, attention to detail, and who focus on high quality patient care. The job entails compassionately assisting our patients and supporting our providers in order to serve our patients with both exceptional and efficient medical care.

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

The duties will be performed in accordance to policy and procedure, standard of care, and in accordance of state certification.The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Report to Clinic Manager
  • Perform nursing procedures under supervision of an AFC provider
  • Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart
  • Give instructions to patients as instructed by a provider
  • Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
  • Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
  • Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants
  • Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)
  • All other duties as assigned by Clinic Manager.

Secondary Functions: The following functions may typically be performed by other positions, however, these may require the additional assistance from MAs:

  • Scheduling of patient appointments
  • Registering patients to include: Collection and verification of insurance, collection of payments, appropriately following our patient reminder process.
  • Assisting with our inventory ordering process by pulling inventory cards and relaying this information to Inventory Coordinator.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Interpersonal Contacts:

Medical Assistants will spend the majority of their time working directly with our patient population. Those in this position will be one of the first representatives that our patients will come into contact with and therefore are the face of our organization. Additionally, our MAs will also work closely with our Front Desk Administrative staff, Clinic Managers and Providers.

Specific Job Skills:

  • Team player who is equally comfortable working independently
  • Warm, friendly attitude with excellent patient interaction skills
  • Ability to understand medical terminology.
  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and dependability.
  • Skilled in Office Productivity software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
  • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Graduates of an accredited post-secondary Medical Assistant program or equivalent required
  • Experience in a medical office setting, 1 year preferred
  • Oregon LXMO Not required (desired for Medical Assistants with X-Ray)

Job Conditions:

  • Medical assistants work in a well-lighted and clean environment
  • 80% of the position will entail standing and walking and entails frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some heavy lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
  • Medical Assistants are required to interact with other people and handle several responsibilities at once.
  • The hours of the position vary and may include: full/part-time hours, nights and evenings, as well as some weekend shifts.
  • Medical Assistants are exposed to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Pay and Benefits:

  • $17.00-$22.00+ / hour DOE
  • *THIS POSITION IS CURRENTLY ELIGIBLE FOR A SIGNING BONUS* Candidates who progress to "Hired" in August 2021 qualify for a $1000 signing bonus.*Additional details apply and can be provided at request.
  • Full Time Benefits Eligible: Medical, Dental, Vision insurances, life insurance, Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) with 3% employer contribution
  • 3 Weeks Paid Time Off
  • Profit Sharing bonus program paid quarterly (all staff eligible, following probationary period)

Schedules:

  • Full-time, ~40 hrs/week
  • Shifts are set schedules; Sunday-Wednesday OR Wednesday-Saturday
