Both sports leagues and summer camps require participants to receive a physical examination prior to enrollment. This measure is taken to ensure everyone is healthy enough and doesn't have any potentially harmful undiagnosed conditions. The only issue with this is that right before these programs begin, pediatricians are overbooked with sports and camp physicals.
However, we at AFC Urgent Care Portland are the solution. Even if your child's pediatrician is booked - we can provide your child with the sports physical exam they need to ensure they can participate in their favorite sport or summer camp.
Our routine sports and camp physicals typically include:
- Examine child's heart, lungs, eyes, nose, abdomen and ears
- Test child's posture, flexibility, strength, balance and posture
- Review child's medical history
- Measure child's height, weight and blood pressure

How long will the exam take?
AFC offers some of the lowest wait times around, with many patients getting in to see a provider in less than 15 minutes. Your exam will probably take around a half hour.

What happens if my physical reveals I have a medical problem?
We’ll complete your paperwork as required, but if it’s something we can help with we might be able to provide you with treatment on the spot. With in-house labs at many locations, you could be on your way without the need for a second visit.
