What Is an Ear Lavage?
An ear lavage, also called ear irrigation, uses a gentle stream of warm water or a water and saline mix to flush wax and debris out of the ear canal. It can also remove foreign objects like sand, food or small insects.
Before we start, your provider asks about your symptoms and looks inside your ear with an otoscope to confirm the problem is wax. After the lavage, we will explain how to keep your ears clear at home.
