Frequently Asked Questions at Walk-in & Urgent Care Clinic in Phoenixville, PA

At AFC Urgent Care & Walk-in Clinic in Phoenixville, PA we look forward to helping you feel better

Can I get a discount?
Our rates are very affordable for self-pay patients. For insured patients, coverage depends on your plan and deductible.

Can you do sports and camp physicals?
Yes, we can. No appointment is needed. Just come in on a walk-in basis, and we'll perform the physical. If there's a required form, please bring that with you.

Do I have to make an appointment?
No, you can walk-in during our normal business hours and be seen by a provider without a long wait.

Do you do gynecological exams?
We perform gynecological exams when appropriate. We do not do Pap Smears.

Do you do physicals?
We can do sports, camp, and school physicals. We also do pre-employment and DOT physicals.

Do you take my insurance?
We participate with most insurance carriers.

Do you treat all ages?
We treat ages 6 months and older.

Do you treat STDs?
Yes, we do. And rest assured that we treat your medical information with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.

How much is a typical visit?
For insured patients,we collect your deductible and/or your co-pay at the time of service, and then bill your insurer for you. After your insurer sends an EOB (explanation of benefits) to us, AFC Urgent Care will bill you for any balance still due.

Our staff will discuss any other recommended treatment or services,(such as an x-ray or a lab test) with you.

If I have insurance, will I get a bill after my visit?
Our fees are fixed, but the amount that your insurance company covers depends on your specific plan, coverage and deductible. After your insurer produces an EOB (explanation of benefits), if there is a balance due, we will bill you for the remaining balance.

What are various allergy symptoms and triggers?
There are different ways to tell if you are having an allergic reaction. Sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, and sinus headaches are the most common. Asthma and skin rashes also happen in some cases. Ear infection, eye irritation, and muscle or joint pain are more serious. These prompt you to seek medical attention as soon as possible.

What is the difference between Urgent Care and Emergency Room.
Urgent care is for conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate, serious threat to your health or life. In general, if your medical issue is life threatening call 911 or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an Urgent Care Center such as AFC Urgent Care is an excellent alternative.

What Type of Medical Treatment do you Provide?
We have board-certified physicians and mid-level practitioners who specialize in fast and effective care, for most non-life-threatening conditions due illness or injury, as well as preventive care, travel consults, and employers’ services. We bridge the gap between a primary care physician and the ER, providing extended hours, seven days a week, with CLIA certified labs, x-ray, splints, braces, and other services.

However, if you have a life-threatening condition or emergency, you should always call 911 and seek a hospital ER.
