WE CURRENTLY ARE TAKING MOST WALK-INS- HOWEVER, FOR SAFETY REASONS, THERE MAY BE TIMES WHEN WE CANNOT SEE EVERYONE. TO GUARANTEE YOUR SPOT, WE DO RECOMMEND APPOINTMENTS | ONLINE REGISTRATION TO SAVE TIME AT THE CENTER AND MAKE YOUR VISIT GO MORE SMOOTHLY (PLEASE FOLLOW ALL STEPS AND UPLOAD INSURANCE INFORMATION/PHOTO ID)
We do NOT call the patient if the result of a lab test is negative- you must obtain them online at Quest's website. Please do not call the facility for these results.
POINT OF CARE TESTING
POC tests (rapid antigen, rapid PCR, flu, strep, mono, urinalysis, pregnancy, glucose, etc) are performed and resulted at our location, in most cases while the patient is onsite. POC results must be obtained before leaving the facility.
We offer multiple kinds of COVID-19 tests- both lab and POC.
*From time the sample is sent to the lab. Samples are sent every evening at 8-9 pm. Turnaround time is not guaranteed- please plan accordingly
Each test has different purposes- however, all PCR tests below are true RT-PCR:
Accula RT-PCR | $179: this is meant for patients that need to obtain timely, accurate results for travel, return to work or return to school. This testing is not covered by insurance. Results are available within 30-45 minutes. Please obtain results before leaving the facility- we cannot email them.
Rapid Antigen | $59: this is not as accurate as a PCR but is suitable for most purposes. Results are available within 15-20 minutes. This test is covered by insurance when ordered by a medical provider. Patients can also pay for this test without needing to see a provider if testing is for a non-covered reason. Please obtain results before leaving the facility- we cannot email them.
Quest PCR: this test is covered by insurance when ordered by a medical provider. Patient must see a provider for this test. Results typically take 24-72 hours (from the time the sample is sent to the lab) but may take longer. We do NOT call for negative results- please obtain them directly from the lab here: https://www.questdiagnostics.com/patients/test-results
We offer a rapid test because they provide highly reliable results on the spot; however, they do produce more false negatives than the RT-PCR COVID-19 Test. Doing both tests is our way of ensuring that you get the most accurate results possible without having to put your life on hold.
That will ultimately depend on your insurance coverage. Presently, many people with insurance are able to get tested at no charge. If you’re uninsured, AFC’s cash pay prices are highly competitive – contact us for the details.
