In-House PCR Testing:
The Accula SARS-CoV-2 Test is a qualitative, rapid PCR-based test. It has been authorized by FDA under an EUA for use by CLIA-certified laboratories that meet requirements to perform high, moderate or waived complexity tests. This test has been authorized only for the detection of nucleic acid from SARS-CoV-2, not for any other viruses or pathogens. The Accula SARS-CoV-2 Test is only authorized for the duration of the declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of emergency use of in vitro diagnostic tests for detection and/or diagnosis of COVID-19 under Section 564(b)(1) of the Act, 21 U.S.C. §360bbb-3(b)(1), unless the authorization is terminated or revoked sooner. In-House PCR testing: Takes roughly an hour for results. A Medical Assistant will call and if requested email your results same day.
We offer a rapid test because they provide highly reliable results on the spot; however, they do produce more false negatives than the RT-PCR COVID-19 Test. Doing both tests is our way of ensuring that you get the most accurate results possible without having to put your life on hold.
That will ultimately depend on your insurance coverage. Presently, many people with insurance are able to get tested at no charge. If you’re uninsured, AFC’s cash pay prices are highly competitive – contact us for the details.
