Did You Know May is National Urgent Care Awareness Month?

"

Each May, the Urgent Care Association of America celebrates National Urgent Care Awareness Month. The purpose of National Urgent Care Awareness Month is to raise awareness about the benefits of urgent care within their respective community and the convenience it brings to busy families.

When AFC Urgent Care Bound Brook first opened, our goal was to make medical care more accessible to the families of Bound Brook and Bridgewater. Today, we feel we’ve succeeded, as we have effectively established our center as the perfect hybrid between the emergency room and primary care physician’s office.

Why Go to AFC Urgent Care When I Can Go to the Emergency Room?

For years, the emergency room has been the preferred destination for injury and illness treatment. While the ER is the best place to go for life-threatening conditions, AFC Urgent Care Bound Brook can treat a wide range of injuries and illnesses that many believe can only be treated at the ER.

The injuries and illnesses we treat include:

  • Sprains, Strains and Joint Pain
  • Cuts & Lacerations
  • Flu, Cold, Bronchitis & Pneumonia
  • Strep Throat & Upper Respiratory Infections
  • Fractures
  • Seasonal Allergies
  • Sports & Work-related Injuries

Unlike the ER, we at AFC Urgent Care Bound Brook can typically get patients in-and-out the door in under an hour. Meanwhile, at the ER, there’s no telling how long you’ll have to wait. If your medical condition is relatively non-serious, you may end up having to wait several hours before seeing a physician.

At AFC Urgent Care Bound Brook, we also accept most health insurances, making your visit to our center both accessible and affordable. We also make sure patients who don’t have health insurance can get receive quality medical care without breaking the bank.

Why Go to Urgent Care When I Can Go to My Doctor’s Office?

The best thing about your local doctor’s office is that they treat you like a person – as opposed to the ER, where they treat you like an assignment. But at AFC Urgent Care Bound Brook, our staff does a fantastic job creating a welcoming and caring environment, much like your primary care physician’s office.

For everyday medical services, the go-to choice for most people is their physician’s office. For parents, they will typically bring their children to the pediatrician’s office. Yet, for services like sports physicals, sometimes you may not have enough time to schedule an appointment with your child’s pediatrician before the season begins. Therefore, visit us at AFC Urgent Care Bound Brook for walk-in sports physicals, lab testing, flu shots and travel vaccines.

For more information, call us at 732-469-3627 or walk into our center today. We look forward to being your go-to destination for all walk-in medical services!
