Located on Congress Parkway off of Lee Highway, AFC Urgent Care is just a short drive away for the citizens of McMinn County. If you know where McMinn County High School is located, you can easily find us, we’re just a 4 minute walk from there and on the same side of Congress Parkway.

Veterans Memorial Park honors the men and women who have bravely served our country. The park has monuments representing the five branches of service and a plaza made up of bricks, each purchased in honor of a veteran.

Athens features many Tennessee treasures. The first railroad constructed in Tennessee began 1 ½ miles south of the center of town. This railroad connected Dalton, Georgia to Knoxville with 98 miles of rail line in 1851. For a nostalgic evening, visit The Swingin’ Midway Drive-In. Constructed in the 1960’s, Swingin’ Midway is one of only thirteen remaining Drive-ins in Tennessee.
However, Athens offers more than entertainment, it is home to various educational institutions. Tennessee Wesleyan University is a private Methodist university that offers a liberal arts education to men and women. The Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) offers technical and occupational training to Athens, McMinn County and the greater surrounding area.
