Dr. Sax graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at the age of 19. He then earned both a PhD in psychology, and an MD, at the University of Pennsylvania. After completing a three-year residency in family medicine at Lancaster General Hospital, Dr. Sax launched his own medical practice in Montgomery County Maryland, just outside Washington DC, where he practiced for 18 years. He has worked at our center since its launch in October 2015. He is the author of four books for parents, most recently The Collapse of Parenting, which was a New York Times bestseller. He lives with his wife and daughter near Chester Springs.
Dr. Leslie Teeple considers herself a Chester county native after moving here as a college student to attend West Chester University (WCU), where she graduated magma cum laude in 1980 with BS in chemistry and biology. From there she went on to medical school graduating from Temple University. Dr. Teeple continued her training with a 3-year internal medicine residency at University of Pennsylvania Presbyterian, and is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr Teeple practiced emergency medicine from 1989 -2014, moved on to private practice in internal medicine in California for several years, then moved back to the East Coast, where she has been working in urgent care. We are fortunate Dr. Teeple joined our AFC team in the Fall of 2020. Dr. Teeple loves animals and has a rescue white shepherd and 2 kitties. She also volunteered to rescue stranded sea mammals from a toxic algae bloom. Dr. Teeple has participated in a domestic violence study published in NEJM and is becoming more involved in efforts focusing on stopping human trafficking. She credits mentors at WCU for encouraging her to consider medicine and it is a huge pleasure for her to be working in West Chester and getting to know students attending her alma mater (and who all seem to love it as much as she did!). Dr. Teeple also loves Jeopardy and is a trivia enthusiast!
