Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in Spartanburg, SC

AFC Urgent Care does not offer the Covid-19 vaccine at this time.

Please visit the CDC website for more information: www.cdc.gov/vaccines/covid-19/

AFC Urgent Care understands your concerns regarding the novel coronavirus COVID-19. Rest assured that, as always, we consider the health and wellbeing of our patients and those in our communities of the utmost importance.

If you begin exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone who has a confirmed case of COVID-19, please use our TeleCare/Video Visit function through our website to set up a video visit with one of our Providers. We will assess your situation by video conference and will provide the appropriate course of action based on our local health department guidelines. If our Provider deems the need for testing, you will be instructed to drive to one of our centers for curbside testing. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE OFFICE – call us from your car when you are in our parking lot to inform us of your arrival. Rapid COVID-19 Testing offers Same Day Results. Supplies may be limited. If we run out of rapid tests, we will still have PCR tests available and results will typically be returned in 24-72 hours. We may also test you for other common viruses, such as the flu, to allow us to more accurately diagnose your symptoms.

Again, If you have any of the listed symptoms www.cdc.gov, please contact our office via the TeleCare/Video Visit function on our website.

The Physicians, Providers and Staff of AFC Urgent Care are committed to excellence in care for our patients. We are dedicated to keeping your family, and ours, safe.

During this COVID-19 pandemic and always, we encourage you to follow the hygiene and social distancing protocols as presented by the CDC guidelines – this includes proper hand washing, avoiding the touching of eyes/nose/mouth with unwashed hands, covering your mouth and nose or use the inside of your elbow when you cough or sneeze, and stay home from activities if you are ill and/or have fever.

Because COVID-19 and the flu are both spread by sneezing and coughing tiny drops of our spit or saliva called “respiratory droplets" into the air and onto surfaces, it is extremely important for us to stay away from other people (including family members), cover our coughs and sneezes, wear a face mask when possible, and continue to wash our hands with soap and water frequently.

As always, our staff is following CDC guidelines for proper healthcare provider hygiene and surface disinfection as well as self monitoring for fever and other symptoms prior to the start of their shifts and again mid-way through their shift. We are dedicated to keeping everyone’s risk as low as possible during seasons of illness by reducing opportunities for transmission of germs, and this is especially true during this season.

Please know your care is our utmost priority and we will continue to strive to provide the best care possible. We will also provide you with the latest information we have and adjust as necessary for your and our protection. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your family.

AFC Urgent Care FAQs

  • Why does AFC provide two different COVID tests?

We offer a rapid test because they provide highly reliable results on the spot; however, they do produce more false negatives than the RT-PCR COVID-19 Test. Doing both tests is our way of ensuring that you get the most accurate results possible without having to put your life on hold.

  • How long does it take to get a COVID test?

We're able to get many patients in and out in a matter of minutes, but the length of time you'll spend in our clinic will depend on wait times that day.

  • How much does it cost to get a COVID test?

That will ultimately depend on your insurance coverage. Presently, many people with insurance are able to get tested at no charge. If you’re uninsured, AFC’s cash pay prices are highly competitive – contact us for the details.
