Help Your Child Through Tryouts
The warm weather has arrived, bringing with it spring tryouts, and at AFC Urgent Care Hixson, we’re ready and able to handle all your spring sports-related needs.
Give It Your All
Spring tryout season can be stressful for kids and their parents. However, there are some things you can do as a parent to help your child through his or her tryout.
Remember that you are there as a support system—not added pressure. Be sure to let your little ones know that if they give it their all, that is all that matters. Encourage them while also being realistic. While you don’t want it to seem to your child that you don’t believe he or she will make it, you don’t want to promise that he or she will. You need to find a happy balance.
In addition to preparing your child mentally, you want to help him or her prepare physically for the tryout, as well. Therefore, take time after school and before dinner to hit some baseballs/softballs or kick around the soccer ball, whatever is needed to get ready for the sport he or she is trying out for. Also, take a few laps around the house to get your child’s body ready for the extra activity that practice and games will bring.
Whether your child needs a sport physical or treatment for an injury, AFC Urgent Care Hixson has your medical needs covered! We are open seven days a week—no appointment is necessary.
