November/December 2019

AFC Urgent Care Edgewater participated in the Anne Arundel County Dept of Social Services Holiday Sharing Program for the 5th year. We distributed Thanksgiving Meals and Christmas gifts and meals to local South County residents.

April 2019

AFC Urgent Care Edgewater participated in this year’s Career Expo at Southern High School. Organized by the Southern Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce Business and Community Advisory Board, the event provides students the opportunity to meet representatives from local trades and gather information on training, licensing and certifications that lead to career opportunities in specific fields. Representing AFC Urgent Care Edgewater was Katie Herring, Clinical Operations Manager, and Wendye. Fortgang, Billing & Operations Support Manager.

November 2018

AFC Urgent Care Edgewater is hosting a Food Drive for the month of November and encouraging patients to bring in a non-perishable food item when they come in for a visit or any time. Patients who donate will be entered into a contest to win a basket of goodies from us and the local businesses in our strip mall (South River Crossing Shopping Center) – Starbucks, Five Guys, Sweet Frog, Pearl Nails and Elements Massage. The recipient of the food will be SCAN, South County Assistance Network, food pantry in Southern Anne Arundel County.

AFC Urgent Care Edgewater participated in the Edgewater Fitness’ annual Reindeer Run as the first aid table and offered some goodies for participants and supporters.

AFC Urgent Care participated in the Heritage Harbour Health Fair, where we provided Pulse Ox readings and promo items for all of the attendees. Even the Chick Fil-A Cow got in on the act. Alice won our Door Prize of a First Aid kit, tea, a mug, chocolate and a fitness tracker. Congratulations!

AFC Urgent Care Edgewater will be supporting the DES Gator Gallop, a fun run benefiting Davidsonville Elementary School. The DES Gator Gallop, being held on May 13th, is a 5K, 1 Mile or 100-yard Gallop, and participants can enjoy the pre-race warm-up, spirit sign making, mascot chase, and post-race snacks.

AFC Urgent Care Edgewater was proud to participate in Central Elementary School’s April Fools Fun Run, also known as the 5K Tiger Trot. The event’s proceeds, raised through a pre-race dinner with a live and silent auction, went toward Smartboards and classroom projectors for Central Elementary School. AFC Urgent Care Edgewater provided promotional giveaways and our Center Administrator, Shaska Thomas provided First Aid.

December 3, 2016
AFC Urgent Care Edgewater had the pleasure of participating in the 7th Annual Reindeer Run. The Reindeer Run is a 5k organized by Edgewater Fitness with all proceeds benefitting Toys for Tots. AFC Urgent Care Edgewater provided the 200 participants with Blood Pressure and Pulse Ox (oxygen level) testing, as well as free promotional giveaways.
The Reindeer Run successfully ushered in the holiday spirit and provided families with a healthy and fun opportunity to give back to the community.

AFC Urgent Care Edgewater’s Center Administrator Shaska, her daughter, Owner/Director of Business Development Ginni Morani and one of our MA’s Kristina participated as a vendor in the End Hunger Dragon Boat Festival in North Beach, MD.
We had a booth with promotional items and a Summer Beach Raffle that included a beach chair, umbrella, cooler, sunscreen, bug spray, First Aid Kit and other promo items! It was a great turnout, over 4,000 people attended and the weather was great.

Southern Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce Cornhole Tournament is a fundraiser for the Chamber and a portion of the proceeds go to the Chamber Scholarship fund. AFC Urgent Care sponsored a team in the Recreational Cornhole Tournament. Our CA/MA, Shaska and Owner/Director of Business Development, Ginni Morani, manned the First Aid booth along with giveaways to attendees. Our team was supported by a great turnout of staff to cheer them on. AFC Urgent Care Edgewater was well represented in the Watermelon Contests. In the women’s contest was Shaska (the winner!), our Lead MA, Katie and Lead X-ray Tech, Alicia and then in the Men’s contest was our team member, Joey.

This year we participate in the Joy Kids Learning Centers Fun Run and Walk 5K. AFC Urgent Care Edgewater also provided First Aid and promotional items/giveaways. Attended by Ginni Morani, Owner/Director of Business Development and our CA, Shaska. This year’s event supported the Backpack Buddies Program in Anne Arundel County. Monies raised went to help over 20,000 children who lack adequate food in Anne Arundel County. The Backpack Buddies Program “exists to help provide, healthy, nutritional foods to economically disadvantaged children."
