Lab Work & Lab Tests available at AFC Urgent Care Downingtown

Sometimes providers and your primary care provider may need lab tests or screenings to help monitor your health
        or
diagnose a problem. These are some of the most common lab tests and services we offer when visiting AFC Urgent
        Care
Downingtown. No appointment is needed to be seen by a provider.

        CMP
Testing – This test allows providers to get an idea on how the body’s metabolism is
functioning, providing information on acid/base balance, electrolyte levels, glucose levels, and organ
            function.
        COVID-19
Testing – Our urgent care center has rapid COVID-19 test available and PCR testing.
Testing is done safely following the latest CDC guidelines.
        Drug
Screening – Our lab can conduct drug and alcohol testing that may be needed for
employment or for specific physicals. Sample collection and processing are done on site.
        Flu
Season – The symptoms of a common cold and allergies overlap with the flu. Get tested
for the flu or a flu shot to prevent it.
        Hepatitis
Panel – This screening allows providers to determine which form of the hepatitis virus
(HAV, HBV, or HCV) you may be infected with. We will review results with you and provide
            treatment/management options.

        Lipid
Panel – This panel allows our providers to get information on a patient’s
cardiovascular health by measuring the cholesterol in their blood. This panel is also often requested as
            part of a yearly check-up.
        Pneumonia
Diagnosis – Pneumonia is a respiratory illness that can lead to serious complications
if untreated. It can be confused with a bad case of the flu or can develop from an initial respiratory
infection. Testing and diagnosis are needed to determine the best treatment for this condition.
        RSV
Testing – The Respiratory Syncytial Virus can cause cold-like symptoms, mostly in
children, but can lead to more severe conditions. Pneumonia, for example, can develop in infants and older
adults from an initial RSV infection.
        STD
Testing – Sexually transmitted diseases are a deeply personal health issue that many
people may not want to discuss, even with their regular primary care provider. Our urgent care center offers
confidential testing in a safe and supportive environment.
        Strep
Throat – Strep throat can often be confused with a sore throat. However, unlike a sore
throat, medical intervention is often needed to help a strep throat clear up. Get tested to determine if you
are afflicted with strep throat and if antibiotics are needed to speed your recovery.
        TB
Testing – Testing for TB (tuberculosis) is often required before starting school and
may be needed as part of an annual physical. At our urgent care center, we can test for TB with a blood test
or a skin test. Note: A skin-based test will take two visits to our urgent care center to complete.
        Urinalysis
            – This diagnostic test takes a urine sample and analyzes it to determine your current health or to look for
signs of illness. The sample is collected and analyzed onsite.
