Steven Heffer, MD FACEP – Owner/Medical Director

Dr. Steven Heffer is a board certified Emergency Medicine physician and has been in practice for twenty years.  He received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and completed his internship and residency at New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital Trauma Center.
His past experiences include working as an attending Emergency Department (ED) physician at the University of Massachusetts where he also served as a life flight Trauma Physician. He then spent over a dozen years as an ED physician at Yale affiliated Greenwich Hospital.
Residing in Fairfield County, Dr. Heffer has been searching for a way to utilize his expertise to positively impact health services within his own community, and improve the quality of medical care available to his patients.  He has already made great strides in his vision for the city of Bridgeport.  Under his leadership as Medical Director and Owner, AFC of Bridgeport was granted the Business in Bloom Award in 2014 and the Regional IMPACT Health Care Award in 2015 by the Bridgeport Regional Business Council for having made significant contributions to the Bridgeport neighborhoods and surrounding towns.
Dr. Heffer is currently the National President of the Physician Advisory Committee at American Family Care (AFC Urgent Care) and a board member of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce. He is extremely passionate and motivated to provide the highest level of medical care and service to the Fairfield County.
