Sports Injuries

AFC Urgent Care New Bedford treats sports injuries for your kids in school. We encourage parents to put their kids into sports when they are in school for many reasons some of them are:

  • Helps build Character
  • Teaches good diet & exercise
  • Gives your child a friend group
  • Teaches responsibility

We have a wide variety of treatment for sports injuries here at AFC Urgent Care NewBedford, Below are some of the services that we include.

Stitches

In contact sports, there is a high possibility that sometimes you may be cut or gashed in the process of playing especially if it an aggressive sport such as football or soccer. If you have a non-life-threatening cut or gashes we can take care of it! If you feel you may need stitches our physicians will assess you & decide whether or not that is the best option for you. Our goal is to make sure you are on your way to recovery as fast as possible!

X-Rays

If you feel you may have a break or fractures we also offer X-rays. Our physicians will give you the technology you need to identify the problem so you can start your rehabilitation treatment immediately. The faster we find the problem the less time your child has to spend on the sidelines.
If you have any more questions or concerns please call us at (508) 990-1900!

AFC Urgent Care FAQs

  • Why choose AFC for Urgent Care?

With state-of-the-art centers and a professional medical team, AFC provides on-site X-rays, labs, procedures, and more!

  • What's the difference between AFC Urgent Care and emergency room services?

Urgent care is for medical conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life. Here is a simple rule of thumb: if your medical issues(s) are life threatening, call 911, or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an urgent care center such as AFC is an excellent alternative.
