The insurance company determines the fee you must pay to see a doctor at our clinic. This fee is generally printed on your insurance card next to the other standard fees for the emergency room or your primary care doctor. Most insurances require a smaller payment for an urgent care center than an emergency room. Additional charges may be possible if you need diagnostic services like x-rays or lab work. Some insurance companies will cover these charges, but others do not. We will do our best to submit all claims to your insurance company and provide you with the paperwork of your visit to our clinic if you need to make a claim yourself.
The urgent care fee generally only applies when you need urgent care medicine from a doctor. Other services, like a physical or a flu shot, will not trigger an urgent care fee.
We certainly welcome any uninsured patients from the Merion Station area for treatment. Our clinic offers discounted self-pay rates for services. The fee to see one of our board-certified doctors is $125. The final charge for your visit to our urgent care center will be determined by the services you need. Our staff will go over any additional costs with you before we begin any treatment. Payment in full is need before we begin any treatment or service.
Our walk-in urgent care center is not a free clinic. We must receive payment before we can treat patients. For a free clinic, check with the county department of health for more information.
When you come from Merion Station to our walk-in clinic, we can treat you and your family for a variety of health care issues. Common illnesses we see include strep throat, colds, flu, sore throats, and other upper respiratory illnesses. We can help if these illnesses are presenting their more severe symptoms to the point where over the counter medication is not giving you the results you want. We also can see you if you suffer from strains, sprains, and fractures. Note that Grade 3 strains and sprains where the muscles or ligament have completely torn and open fractures where the bone has pierced the skin must be seen by specialists or an emergency room. These doctors and facilities are better equipped to administer emergency care and emergency medicine. Minor to moderate strains and sprains and simple fractures can be treated at our state of the art urgent care center. Your minor injury can be treated easily at our clinic.
Our walk-in clinic is equipped with an onsite lab and digital x-ray. Both are available to our doctors and you seven days a week to help with your diagnosis. Furthermore, no appointment is needed for a flu test, strep throat test, or an x-ray. Don’t wait for your primary care physician to schedule you for a test or x-ray, and get the answers you need today at AFC Urgent Care Narberth. We will not only review the results with you in detail but provide you a copy for your records and can send one to your regular physician upon request.

Urgent care is for medical conditions that require prompt attention but do not pose an immediate threat to your health or life. Here is a simple rule of thumb: if your medical issues(s) are life threatening, call 911, or go directly to a hospital emergency room. If not, an urgent care center such as AFC is an excellent alternative.
