Travel Vaccinations

Bridgeport Main Travel Vaccinations at AFC Urgent Care

You wouldn’t travel not fully prepared, right? Quite often, people don’t think to prepare themselves medically. Many countries have entirely different illnesses than we do in the U.S. and there are many common illnesses that can occur to an international traveler. It is recommended that all international travelers consult a doctor before the leave. The sooner the better as well.

Many countries have entirely different illnesses than we do in the U.S. and there are many common illnesses that can occur to an international traveler. It is recommended that all international travelers consult a doctor before they leave. AFC Bridgeport offers travel medicine consultation and can prepare you for your travels. We can provide you with vaccinations against any viruses you may encounter while abroad. We can also prescribe you with anti-malaria and anti-diarrhea medicines should you become sick while traveling. To meet with one of our doctors today, just walk in or make an appointment with either our Boston Ave location or our Main St location.

While we do accept walk-ins, it is recommended that you get vaccinated at least 4 to 6 weeks prior to your travels. Our centers are open later than most doctors offices, and we have convenient weekend hours, as well.

To schedule a consultation or with questions, call us today at (203) 333-4400 to reach our Boston Ave location, or call us at (203) 916-5151.

AFC Urgent Care FAQs

  • What vaccinations do you offer in your clinics?

We offer a wide range of common vaccinations for people of every age. For children six months and up, we can provide regular vaccines against diseases like hepatitis B, and PCV. For adults, we offer flu shots, and tetanus shots, shingles vaccines, and many more. Contact us and let us know which vaccine you need.

  • How do I know if I need a vaccine?

To discover which vaccinations you've received, look up your vaccination history. Your vaccination record is a comprehensive document that details the history of all of your vaccines as a youngster and as an adult. To access your vaccination record you can ask your family or doctor if they have your up to date report.

  • Is it safe to get my vaccinations from AFC instead of my regular doctor?

Yes, AFC offers several services that otherwise are made available only through an appointment at your doctor's office. Whether you need a regular checkup, vaccinations, or lab work, we're able to provide healthcare alongside your general practitioner, so you never need to go without the services you need.
