Unexpected Injury Or Illness? Don’t Wait To See A Doctor!

Injuries, accidents and illnesses usually happen without warning and may require seeing a doctor as soon as possible. If your condition doesn’t require emergency room attention, AFC Anderson can help. We treat all minor injuries and illnesses. If the injury or illness is not life-threatening and will not lead to permanent or serious damage, we can help. AFC Anderson is specifically designed to treat acute illnesses and minor injuries, and it is an excellent option for convenient and compassionate care.

If your injuries are severe and possibly life-threatening, call 911 or get to an emergency room right away. Emergency injuries include:

  • Limb-threatening injuries
  • Severe bleeding
  • Open fractures
  • Head injuries
  • Chest pain
  • Major trauma
  • Weakness or numbness on one side of the body

Examples Of Minor Injury Treated At AFC Anderson

Minor injuries can be painful and inconvenient even though they don’t threaten your life, long-term survival, or mobility. For minor injuries that involve only moderate pain, limited motion, minimal swelling or other mild symptoms, save time and money by visiting us for treatment. AFC Anderson can effectively treat most minor injuries and provide relief from symptoms. Don’t wait to see if the injury gets better on its own; this can sometimes lead to complications. Plus, if you think it’s only a sprain, but it’s actually broken, you need to know. If your symptoms are severe enough to make you consider getting help, you probably need to get it.

Minor injuries include the following:

  • Sports injuries
  • Fractures
  • Sprains
  • Back pain
  • Cuts
  • Lacerations
  • Burns
  • Minor eye injuries
  • Removal of splinters
  • Skin Irritations

If your child requires x-rays or lab tests, we can do both onsite. Our advanced x-ray facilities and onsite lab allow us to provide an efficient and practical approach to treating the most common childhood illnesses and injuries in a single visit. Best of all, we’re open seven days a week with extended hours, and we accept most forms of insurance. Injuries like sprains, strains, fractures, cuts and bruises can cause intense pain, especially when touched or moved. When you visit AFC Anderson, you can expect:

  • A thorough examination of the injury
  • An X-ray to determine if there is a break or fracture
  • A treatment plan that may include splints, prescription, or a referral

Sports Injuries

Sports and exercise are important for people of all ages! They teach character, teamwork and dedication. Plus sports and exercise are a lot of fun, and they are good for us. Unfortunately, sometimes sports and exercise may result in an injury. AFC Anderson is here to patch you up and get you back in action as fast as possible.

Common Treatments For Injuries

  • Stitches

Cuts and gashes happen as a result of trauma to the skin. Depending on how bad the cut is, it may require stitches to aid in healing and minimize scarring. If you are unsure whether you need stitches or not, come in and see us at AFC Anderson. Our providers will do the following:

    • Clean your wounds
    • Measure the wound & check how deep the cut is
    • Provide stitches if needed
    • If we feel your cut is too large or life-threatening, we may refer you to the nearest ER for more complex treatment.
  • X-Rays

If you believe you have broken or fractured a bone or suffered a sprain, we have you covered! AFC Anderson has an X-ray machine on-site. We can do your X-rays, review them and analyze your injury to determine the type of care it may require. Treatment for sprains and fractures may include bandages, soft casts, hard casts, or ice and rest.

  • Burn Relief

Severe burns need to be treated at the emergency room, but AFC Anderson can help treat more minor burns. Individuals with first-degree and small second-degree burns can choose urgent care instead of the emergency room, allowing them to be seen faster. Second-degree burns affect both the inner and outer layers of the skin and cause blistering. Doctors at urgent care centers may use an antibiotic cream or clean the burn to prevent infection.

Did you know we have a complex in-house lab for our testing services? This means faster more accurate results! This also reduces costs and fees for you. At AFC Urgent Care Anderson our mission is to provide the best healthcare possible in a kind and caring environment, in an economical manner, while respecting the rights of all of our patients, at times and locations convenient to the patient.
