Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant is a formally trained multi-skilled team member who performs a variety of clinical, technical, and medical office support duties that fall within the Medical Assistant scope of practice. Clinical work includes but is not limited to ensuring smooth patient flow; rooming patients; taking and recording patient history, vital signs, and other measurements; assisting with medical and laboratory exams, procedures, and treatments; administering medications; performing EKGs, breathing treatments, wound care and similar procedures; collecting and processing lab specimens; providing assistance, information and instructions to patients; maintaining, disinfecting, stocking, and organizing medical treatment areas, equipment and supplies; and performing other duties as assigned. Front Office responsibilities include reception, appointment scheduling, working with medical records, computers, and similar activities.
Qualifications
Requires formal Medical Assistant education and training; current Medical Assistant certification preferred. One or more years of progressively responsible experience in a medical setting, and demonstration of the knowledge and skills required to competently perform the duties of this position. These include but are not limited to the ability to apply knowledge of medical clinic operations; regulations governing Medical Assistant work; medical ethics; confidentiality; basic anatomy, physiology, grammar and arithmetic; medical terminology; medical records management; patient scheduling; medical treatments and hazards; risk management; infection control; the operation of medical and office supplies, equipment and software, etc. Required skills and characteristics include the ability to learn and apply procedures; utilize sound judgment; communicate effectively; take vital signs and other measurements; perform and/or assist with medical procedures including CPR; type quickly and accurately; use computers; work accurately and productively; prioritize multiple concurrent responsibilities; adapt to changing circumstances; and maintain a caring and positive attitude in a fast-paced medical setting with intense public contact. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and technical skills; initiative; the ability to work independently and collaboratively; respond well to supervision and feedback; role model healthy behavior and interact with colleagues and a diverse staff with warmth, kindness, and inclusiveness.

X-Ray Technician

Come join at our brand new urgent care center in West Hartford, CT!
Responsibilities
The X-Ray Tech at is truly an amazing and exceptional professional. First, you are able to conduct radiologic procedures to provide data to assist in the diagnosis of patients. This includes but not limited to the following:
• Operate digital x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body.
• Explain procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
• Position patients utilizing immobilization devices.
• Monitor, record and communicate as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems.
• Utilize knowledge of age specific needs of patient in performance of duties and responsibilities.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
• Provide a safe environment for administering contrast material.
• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
In addition, this pro will assist in the care of patients performing some medical assistant duties when not administering x-rays and assist the physician in the clinic. This position will also help out at the front desk to register patients when not performing X-Rays or Medical Assistant duties. Qualifications
Valid Connecticut State Certificate in Radiologic Technology required and a minimum of 3 months experience working as a licensed X-Ray Tech. Basic understanding of digital X-Ray services and Medical Assistant responsibilities. Understanding of the concepts of universal precautions, HIPAA and OSHA.
