How to Fight the Office Flu

Many see the flu as an inconvenience, but it can actually be a fatal disease. Although the elderly and youth are the most at risk for flu-related complications, it doesn’t hurt to take caution even if you’re not among those groups.

Every year, American businesses lose billions of dollars in sick employees and lost productivity. Given the cost of the flu, it makes sense to take measures to protect employees.

The most important step to ensure a clean and healthy office environment is to make sure sick employees stay home. For those who are not yet sick, the best way to fight the office flu is the flu vaccination. Vaccinations can be received at many pharmacies along with any AFC Urgent Care location.

Fight the Office Flu Kits

To kill the virus inside the office and prevent its spread to different surfaces, it is recommended that employers make “Fight the Office Flu Kits” for their employees.

Kits should include items such as:

  • paper towels
  • disinfectant spray
  • hand sanitizer
  • hand sanitizer wipes
  • many, many new pens ( pens carry a ton of germs when shared between colleagues. Employees should use their own)

You cannot be too careful when it comes to the flu so visit our AFC Urgent Care Center to get a flu shot today!
