Flu Season Peaks, Year-to-Date Numbers Show Spike in Reports

Flu season is in full swing. This weekend the CT Department of Public Health released the latest numbers and the results point to similar trends in years past. Last year the flu peaked in the week ending in January 12. It’s not to late to protect yourself and your family with a flu shot as we are in the peak. According to last year’s statistics, another peak will hit in the week around March 23.

Dr. Tom Brown, medical director of , a walk-in clinic on Main Street in Danbury, and coming soon to West Hartford, said he started seeing influenza cases in early December. He said he’s seen as many as seven flu cases in one day. “It’s here,” he said. “People should really take precautions and get their flu shot.” (Greenwich Time)

CBS CT reports on the cases confirmed in CT as well. Reporting Fairfield County as hardest hit by the this years seasonal flu, followed by New Haven County.  (CBS CT)
